When it gets dark, you will enjoy looking at the stars from 11000 feet. Then you will visit the 800 year old Phyang Monastery. You will end the day with local Ladakhi food. You will sleep at your homestay in Phyang

Today you will travel from Leh to the beautiful Nubra Valley on the old Silk Route. You will cross the famous Khardung La pass, one of the highest roads in the world. When you reach Nubra, you will see the tall Buddha statue at Diskit Monastery. Then you will visit Hunder to see special double humped camels and sand dunes. This area is known as a cold desert. You will sleep in a homestay at Sumur.

Today you will explore the hidden gems of the Nubra Valley. You will drive to the beautiful Ensa Gompa, an old monastery located on a hilltop. After this, you will take a short hike to Yarab Tso also known as Lofan Tso, which is considered a sacred lake. Later, you will visit the Panamik village and take a relaxing dip in its natural hot springs. In the evening, you have the option to watch the traditional Kyagar cultural performance. You will stay the night at a homestay in Nubra.

You will travel next to the Shyok River to the beautiful Pangong lake. You will pass through Shyok Village. This village was an important stop on the old trade route from Leh to China. The drive takes about seven hours and has great views. In the evening, you will see Pangong, the highest saltwater lake in the world. You will stay for the night in a cozy homestay in Maan Village.

After breakfast, you will drive for one hour to Chushul, the last border village of Ladakh. You will visit the 1962 Rezangla War memorial. After breakfast, you will drive for two hours to Hemishukhpachun to start your trek. You will walk over the Mebtak La pass to reach Tingmosgang Village. The path has beautiful views of the hills. When you reach Tingmosgang, you will see beautiful apricot orchards. This is a moderate trek of about 11 kilometers and takes 5 hours. You will rest for the night in Tingmosgang.

Our team will travel from Tingmosgang to Likir village for a pottery session. You will visit the home of one of the last pottery family. You can make clay models with the potter and enjoy a traditional lunch with the family. After this, we will drive back to Leh for the night. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the Leh market to buy gifts like Pashmina, apricot sweets and local crafts.

As your journey in the Himalayas ends, it is time to go back to the airport for an early morning flight to Delhi. The team leader will be there to help you depart safely.

What To Expect

The Nubra and Changthang valleys are remote regions in Ladakh and this journey reflects that. Expect high altitude travel starting at 3500 meters and treks that reach up to 3750 meters over changing paths. The first two days are very important for getting used to the altitude. You will also experience some long drives such as the seven hour journey to Pangong Lake. As you move into remote villages like Khungru and Chushul, facilities will become more basic. Stays are clean and comfortable but simple, as you will be living a village life that includes staying in mud houses and local homestays.

Internet connection might not be available for most of the trip, allowing you to disconnect and enjoy the mountain views. This experience involves real interaction, like making clay models with a local pottery family, sharing traditional organic meals and bringing solar light to an 800 year old monastery. It is not a standard holiday but rather a deep journey focused on exploring unique sites, understanding village life and connecting with the rich history of Ladakh
